Meet the Devil's Head Ski Patrol

Devil's Head Ski Patrol is a volunteer department of Devil's Head Resort affiliated with the National Ski Patrol. Devil's Head Ski Patrol provides high quality rescue and emergency care services for skiers and snowboarders in addition to promoting safe skiing and boarding through public education programs.

Ski Patrol members all have completed the National Ski Patrol's Outdoor Emergency Care course and are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator use. Patrollers on the hill also are trained to safely transport injured people down the hill in rescue toboggans.

Devil's Head Ski Patrol also gives orientation/safety talks to groups visiting Devil's Head Resort and lends pagers to group leaders.

Patroller with bicyclistsMembers commit to a regular shift once a week throughout the ski season. Devil's Head ski area is open seven days a week from 9 or 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for 12 to 16 weeks a year. Each week DHSP members staff 21 regular shifts. The patrol also provides first aid services during off-season at mountain bike events at Devil's Head Resort and other outdoor sports events in Southern Wisconsin.
